My Story
From the Classroom to Your Financial Future
My name is Bryan Schurter, and since 2004 I've been helping teachers, school employees, and families build financial security — through tax preparation, retirement planning, life insurance, and estate planning.
Before any of that, I was a classroom teacher. I spent five years in the Orange Unified School District from 1999 to 2004, and that experience shapes everything about how I work with clients today. I know what a teacher's paycheck looks like. I know how CalSTRS works — and how confusing it can be. I know the financial pressures educators face and the questions nobody seems to answer clearly.
When I transitioned into financial services, I made a decision to stay focused on the people I knew best: teachers and their families. That focus has never changed. I approach every client relationship the way I approached my classroom — with patience, plain language, and a genuine commitment to making sure you understand what you're deciding before you decide it.

Outside the Office
I've been married to my wife Brandy for over 26 years. Our daughter Chloe is 20 and studying at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and our son Chase is 19 at Cal State Monterey Bay. We're proud of both of them — and enjoy every moment we get together as a family.
When I'm not working, you'll almost certainly find me near the water. The beach, the lake, the pool, the ocean — all good with me. I love paddleboarding, being out on a boat, and anything that gets me outside. Daily movement and exercise are a big part of my life, and spending quality time with family is what it's all for.
